Shale gas environmental problems must stand the test

With the rising demand for natural gas, the US-led world energy power set off a wave of  shale gas  development in this wave among Chinese shale gas development, there is also the enormous exploitation of water consumption, groundwater pollution and other ecological problems. Mining or not mining companies? Government to encourage or discourage? In addition to technology and market factors, its impact on ecological environment caused by making a very tangled issue.
Some experts believe that the exploitation of shale gas in these activities may affect the environment, pollute the air, water and soil. And in recent days, Pennsylvania, in the United States conducted a study may lead to a new debate. The study shows that shale gas could cause gas within a radius of one kilometer of drinking water are methane, ethane and propane contamination.
Both findings, or mass media, shale gas development in the initial stage incurs a label affixed ecological pollution. If the voices of opposition prevailed, government, business, scholars will have high priority. Pollution problems are not resolved, the developer prohibitive, shale gas revolution slowly.
Shale gas is extracted from shale in natural gas, natural gas supply in the United States, a growing percentage of shale gas. The main use of shale gas fracking, is about a lot of chemicals and water, a mixture of sand, with high-pressure underground injection wells, fracturing rock formations nearby, and then collect natural gas.
Compared with the U.S., China's shale gas geological storage conditions are relatively more complicated. Public data shows, China's shale oil and gas are located in the South Downs, the western highlands, more than 3,000 meters depth. These ecologically fragile areas, the slightest mistake, it will bring ecological and environmental problems. Coupled with the current exploitation of  hydraulic fracturing  technology is still one of the main technical shale gas, shale gas exploration to consume large amounts of water, which is facing.
May lead to the development of shale gas in addition to water resources, land use, geology, air quality and other regional environmental issues, but also may contribute to global climate change. Departments focus is on shale gas resources survey, as well as exploration and exploitation of technology research and development, although the climate and environmental issues are considered, but not enough to deal with shale gas development and utilization of the potential challenges.
However, we should also see the haze in the harsh environment, the increasing demand of natural gas, shale gas development to further exert the pressure. According to the Ministry of Land and Oil and Gas Strategy Center officials estimate that by 2020, China's natural gas consumption will reach 3500 to 380,000,000,000 cubic meters, in 2030 will reach 5500 to 600,000,000,000 cubic meters. Meanwhile, China's natural gas independent industry chain has taken shape, natural gas pricing mechanism is gradually straightened out.
